Azimut Yachts: new Grande 26M and Grande 36M unveiled

Azimut simultaneously unveils two new models that will be officially presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022: Grande 26M and Grande 36M. Both yachts feature full-height windows, a distinctive symbol of designer Alberto Mancini, and barrier-free spaces for greater contact with nature. Every design element has been studied to enhance the experience of the owner and his guests.

Azimut Grande 26M

The “smaller size” model has been built with a multi-level architecture that ensures total privacy for guests, who can therefore enjoy plenty of space to spend their day.

The master suite is located on the main deck while the four guest cabins are located on the lower deck. The crew quarters are located in the bow and can be accessed directly from the galley or from the side walkway, made possible by the slightly raised wheelhouse.

The most distinctive feature of the Azimut Grande 26M is the Fold-Up Sea View Terrace, a terrace created thanks to the ingenious idea of opening the stern door by rotating it upwards. This way, the cockpit extends, offering guests a larger space, inspired by the Grande Trideck’s terrace.

Azimut Grande 36M

What’s surprising, Azimut introduces the concept of the semi-walkaround upper deck, overturning the traditional schemes for boats of this size and offering a single, spacious space.

Thanks to the side windows that can be opened completely out of sight, the upper deck creates a single space that joins up with the skylounge, where there is a glass Jacuzzi and a sunbathing area in the bow.

Given the size of the spaces, owners can choose between a more traditional layout or a more alternative one, with informal indoor-outdoor dining areas.

Azimut Grande and sustainability

Since 2015 Azimut has been pursuing the Green Efficiency Program and the new yachts obviously reflect the new guidelines for reducing environmental impact. Both make extensive use of carbon fibre and fibreglass, reducing the weight of the superstructures by 30% and thus lowering fuel consumption.

Azimut Grande 26M uses a new propulsion system that relies on PODs to generate thrust, thus reducing fuel consumption by up to 20% compared to other yachts of the same size.

Grande 36M, on the other hand, features the latest evolution of the D2P (Displacement to Planing) hull, designed by Pierluigi Ausonio of Studio P.L.A.N.A. together with the Azimut|Benetti R&D department.

This hull, which has already been adopted by the Grande Trideck, thanks to an improvement in the wavepiercer, makes it possible to reduce fuel consumption by up to 40% at displacement speeds compared to traditional hard-chine hulls.
