The Italian Sea Group and Giorgio Armani announce a new partnership
Coming like a bolt from the blue, this piece of news, due to the importance of the names involved, is inevitably destined to (positively) upset a market that has always had innovation among its main driving forces.
It therefore deserves the utmost attention that Giorgio Armani, one of the most famous Italian fashion designers in the world, with a supposed personal fortune of over EUR 6 billion, has signed an agreement with The Italian Sea Group, a nautical giant specialized in the construction of large-sized boats, for the construction of a 72m superyacht.
“ This agreement, which I am extremely proud of, is a further confirmation of our way of being and creating unique projects with brands of Made in Italy excellence that share our values”, says The Italian Sea Group CEO Giovanni Costantino – Armani is synonymous with timeless elegance and sophistication and his stylistic vision will also increase our stylistic sensitivity. The new motor yacht, which combines technology and excellence in design with the distinctive features of the Armani brand and its deep identity, will give us great satisfaction”.
The superyachts will have cutting-edge features and will be built beneath The Italian Sea Group’s Admiral brand, globally known for having launched – from 1966 until today – 147 yachts, universally appreciated for their elegance, practicality and prestige.
The partnership marks another important achievement for the shipyard that, under the Tecnomar brand, has already established a partnership with Lamborghini for the construction of the legendary “ Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63” yacht.
A collaboration that clearly suggests Giovanni Costantino’s desire to “contaminate” boating with external influences of absolute prestige.
The Italian Sea Group
The Italian Sea group is an Italian shipyard, specialized in the construction and refitting of superyachts and ships up to 100 meters in length. The company is led by Italian businessman Giovanni Costantino and includes three brands: Admiral, Tecnomar and NCA Refit. Last February, the shipyard presented a request for admission to list on the Milan Stock Exchange, possibly within the Star segment.
In 2020, The Italian Sea Group registered revenues of 116.4 million euros, an increase of 16.1% compared to the 100.3 million euros recorded in the same period of the previous year. The Order Book at 31 December 2020 was equal to approximately 605 million euros, of which approximately 286 million relating to new contracts signed (shipbuilding and refitting) during the 2020 financial year.
19 yachts and superyachts are currently in production, for a net backlog of 432 million Euros which corresponds to 3.7 times the net revenues of the shipbuilding division in 2020.
